About Us

About our organization, The Laguna Greenbelt, the The Land and History

This work continues today with our initiative on the Irvine Regional Wildlife Corridor, an important wildlife habitat connection between the Laguna Greenbelt/South Coast Wilderness area and the Cleveland National Forest.

We also believe in enhancing our protected areas with new plantings, some of which can be seen in Aliso-Woods Canyon, Laurel Canyon, and those done in the last decade along Laguna Canyon Road.

Other initiatives are our vigilant efforts against some of nature’s unwanted vegetation such as pampas grass and black mustard. Every season volunteers go into our wilderness to help eradicate these harmful, fast-growing, invasive non-native plants.

The Greenbelt Nursery run by Robert Lawson is a stellar example of volunteerism at its strongest.
