Redevelopment of Aliso Creek Golf Course

Aliso Creek Golf Course & Resort Hotel

Another major issue is the potential redevelopment of the existing Aliso Creek Course with a new resort oriented hotel, a reconfigured golf course and adjacent condominiums. The developer, the Athens Group is in the process of completing an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project.

The Athens Group is a luxury hotel developer with extensive holdings in the Western United States and is also the developer behind the nearby Montage Resort.

While no official word has been released, there are signs that the dramatic economic downturn has taken its toll on this project and it’s financial partners. So as of mid 2010, it would seem that the resort plans are on hold at the present time. Stay tuned for any changes with this project.
